I'm starting a series on my blog called the Mix-tion-ary. Basically, I mix words together to create new meanings. It's like remixing a song to create a new song. As a writer, I sometimes feel confined by the English language, so in order to fully express myself to myself and the others, I will create new words to help me define and articulate how I feel.
#1: Entrepre-new-real
A characteristic in everyone but only accessible to one who is aware of the creative force within them and is willing to undertake the birth of a new reality through any form of creation (ie art, agriculture, business, etc).
The word "entrepreneur" is a loanword from French. In French the verb "entreprendre" means "to undertake", with "entre" coming from the Latin word meaning "between", and "prendre" meaning "to take".
Today, the term social entrepreneur is very popular because they have dis-covered new models of business that unify social mission with financial ambition. One's social mission seeks to create value first. One's financial ambition seeks to capture as much of the value created as possible.
Google is perhaps the best model of social entrepreneurship to date with the social mission of organizing the world's information and making it universally accessible and useful and the financial ambition actualized through their highly profitable Google Adwords profit model.
To change is to create new avenues to a destine-nation. The alternative is insanity, which can be defined as doing the same thing over and over and expected a different results. Whether as entrepre-new-ers or intrapre-new-ers, lasting change will only come through every human being tapping into the entrepre-new-real spirit within them.

Below is the transcript from a Google chat I had with Selome after a friend of hers said "im not a dreamer, i'm a realist"
_____________________
Selome: what is your analysis of someone who says "im not a dreamer, i'm a realist"
me: Dreamers are realist too. The only difference is that the reality of a dreamer expands beyond the reality of a so called realist :) In the mind of a so called realist, anyone whose possibilities expand beyond their own is called a dreamer.
Realists cut off possibilities and think of the impossible, whereas dreamers create possibilities and think of the in-possible. Neither one knows what is actually possible, but at least a dreamers thoughts and hopes aren't pre-im-prisoned before even trying.
Selome: i'm like but dreams aren't UNrealistic
me: Good point. dreams are just thoughts and realities yet to manifest.
Selome: i was asking him, so u don't have visions that you want to manifest one day? it was like awwww man, u need a smiley face on ur forehead
me: in the same way that a dent-ist works on dental areas, every dreamer must become a real-ist and do work on reality if their dreams are going to manifest.
How Does Life Taste To You?
When we go to a restaurant that we've never been to before, we typically look at the entire menu first and then make a choice. Sometimes someone else (friend or waiter) recommends a dish, but usually we choose our meal based on how we think it will taste according to the ingredients on the menu and the restaurant's reputation.
Once everyone's food comes, oftentimes, we start to second guess our choice. Without even tasting our own meal, we look around at how other people's meals look and smell, and begin to think to ourselves, "I should have got that." The crazy thing is that we aren't the only one thinking that; everyone at the table is thinking the exact same thing. As a result, nobody is really satisfied with their choice and our own meal doesn't taste as good because we're all constantly thinking about how good the next person's meal taste.
Many of us experience life the same we experience dining. It's always greener on the other side of the fence. We compare and covet our neighbors' lives without being fully aware of the ingredients that make up their lives, how satisfying or dissatisfying their lives are to them, or how our life truly taste. We never know who is or isn't truly happy with the life before them because those who aren't happy pretend they are so that they don't look bad.
Though restaurants should have picture menus instead of word-based menus, it's also important not to judge a book by its cover or in this case, a meal by its grubber. We have to remember that taste transcends look and smell and we all have different tastes. What looks, smells, and tastes good to someone else may not taste good to you.
Finally, the thing that we tend to forget most is that the fundamental purpose of food is to energize. Even taste is secondary to energy. The most elementary explanation of eating is that plants and animals sacrifice their life force so that we can live. In the same way, the goodness of one's life should be measured by how much love (the highest form of positive energy) it creates in the heavenly body of Mother Earth despite how it looks, smells, or taste to others.
How does your life taste to you?
As a result of sharing my vision and intention in my Monday post "I'm Leaving My Job & New York", here are the 10 things I attracted in the past 48 hours.
1. A friend offered to pray for me as I take this leap of faith
2. I'm certain that dozens more of my friends are praying for me based on emails and comments
3. Mylinia closed a small angel round of financing after some legal delays
4. Two friends have given me leads on Chief Technology Officers for Mylinia
5. My dad said he would give me his Nissan Pathfinder car so I can get around in LA without me even asking
6. Two strategic partnerships for Mylinia got put on the table
7. I've connected with 10 friends from California in person in New York all in support of me
8. I got good news about my tax return
9. I found a designer for the book cover of "You Can't Google Purpose"
10. I got 5 phone calls and affirmations from California friends in support of my move(ment)
This is pretty powerful, so I had to document this for myself and others.
Stay tuned. More good is on its way.

As of Friday, May 30th (68 more days), I will be leaving MLT and New York to pursue my purpose full-time.
I'm going, going, back, back, to Cali, Cali to:
1. Live with my spiritual partner, Selome, in LA
2. Run Mylinia.com full-time and
3. Write my book titled "You Can't Google Purpose"
RE: Selome & I in LA
Some say that your life partner is the biggest decision of your life and though our relationship will only be half-a-year by the time we move into together, I feel like love doesn't have a time line. I've done the long distance thing before, but I realized that at some point you have to give the relationship a fair shot or else it will dis-integrate. We lived together in January in New York as an experiment and it was a blessed time filled with love and lessons. We just got an apartment in Leimert Park. I haven't even seen it yet, but I trust that it is perfect for us.
RE: Mylinia
Mylinia has been a struggle to build virtually, technically, and financially. We're currently looking for a CTO to round out our founding team. The absence of a tech team has resulted in long product development cycles. As a result, we haven't been able to attract the financing we need. Again, it's a time and energy thing. I need to be able focus on finding financing and a tech team and hopefully this move will free me up to do that. We are conducting a private beta in April with 100 passionate people willing to share their visions with the world. If you know any passionate people or programmers, please let me know.
RE: You Can't Google Purpose
By the end of the month I should be done with the first draft of my book proposal. I'm not sure whether I'm going to self publish or try to get a deal. The book is already within me; I just need the space to write it. I pray that it will flow during the summer so that I can release the book in Fall.
RE: Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT)
MLT's entrepreneurial environment has provided me with the space to create and grow as a businessman. I've learned the intricacies and challenges of successfully growing an organization and I also learned how to empower customers to market your products or services for you via the creation of the CP Ambassadors Program. I love the people at MLT and have developed some strong friendships there. I knew (and was open with MLT) from the beginning that this would be a bridge job until Mylinia popped off and now my spirit is calling me to move on.
RE: My New York Peoples
I met some great new friends in New York: Sam, Sallome, Boris, Allah, Ashley, Alicia, the Sarahs, Rolando, Danya and more, and I reconnected with old friends like Ari, Chauncee, Michelle, Christian, Jody, and May. You will all be happy to know that Sallome will continue doing potlucks in New York after I leave. The next one will be April 20th and then I'll host one more in May before I leave.
Fear, finances, and failure will never overcome faith and focus.
Much love,
MBA Action Plan![]()
(click to download)
I'm a huge proponent of business school because the experience is like no other. The diversity of people, classes, and opportunities is surreal. The possibilities in business school are infinite; MBAs are more likely to start companies, travel to multiple countries, and meet global thought leaders than I think any other grad programs allows.
The two greatest lessons I learned in business school weren't from classes; they came from my classmates challenging me to be my best and me challenging myself. My MBA taught me:
1. how to think bigger and
2. how to communicate complex ideas
For all those being admitted to B-school, congrats!!!
My MBA Action Plan is the tool I created and used to keep me focused on the reasons I chose to go to business school and what I wanted to get out of the two years. I hope this tool blesses you and helps you make the most out of your MBA experience in the same way it did for me.
I Once Was Lost, But Now I'm Found
In 2001, my car was stolen at gunpoint. It was my first car. I worked, saved, and bought it used with cash. I only had it for a few days and I didn't get insurance for it yet. It was a sunk cost. Had I had something like LoJack, the police could have recovered the car before it was totaled.
LoJack is a tracking device hidden in a vehicle so that if it ever gets stolen, it can be recovered. A vehicle with LoJack is never lost because it is always in touch with a satellite that tracks its location. Therefore, the car is always redeemable.
There is a saying that "our body is just a vehicle transporting our soul" and like our cars, sometimes we feel lost too. Like a person looking for their (stolen) car in the parking lot they park in every day, we get this feeling that something isn't right. We're not where we're supposed to be in the lot of life.
Fortunately, the divine design of the Universal Manufacturer placed a LoJack in each of us. Therefore, even when we feel lost, we can rest assure that we can always be found. To be found doesn't mean to be at our destination; To be found is to know that we're going the right way en route to the divine destination within us.
The song Amazing Grace goes "I once was lost, but now I'm found", however, the only way to be ever feel lost is to cut off communication with our Source. In the same way that the LoJack is always transmitting signals between itself and the satellite, for us, the key to feeling on track is to stay in constant communication with our satel-Light however possible (ie prayer, meditation, journaling, etc). Know that we each have a direct connect to our Source. Therefore, you've got it and can always get it back.
God On Auto-Correct
Problems are simply questions without answers...yet. We tend to have a fantasy image of the world in which everything works out in the end and everyone lives happily ever after. But God's Word is not like Microsoft Word. God doesn’t automatically correct our mistakes as we write history with the ink of our decisions. Think of life more like the typewriters that our parents used. They had to correct mistakes they made for themselves; there was no auto-correct function. They used white-out to start anew.
Because of functions like auto-correct and spell check, some we have been spelling the same words wrong for years. In the same way, because of the false concept of God as someone/thing external that will forgive and clean up after us every time we mess up, we have continued to make poor decisions over and over instead of acknowledging that as a divine expression of The Author, we are co-authors, making us equally responsible for the story being written. It is our responsibility to collectively rewrite our history and forecasted destiny. We have to proof-read the world just like we would proof-read a paper:
1. Read the situation
2. Affirm what’s right
3. Identify what's wrong, and
4. Correct the problems
History is the most collaborative story ever written and we must each ask ourselves:
- Will my contribution be timeless or tiny?
- Will I be a comma that continues a thought or the period that ends one?
- Will I question or exclaim?
- Will I have a structured intro, body, and conclusion? or will I flow freely and poetically?
- Will I continue someone else's story?
- Will my story be worthy enough for someone to continue mine?
- Will I have a conclusion? or will I be open-ended?
- Will I critique what is? or create what isn't?
What's Your Highest Personal Velocity?
Notorious BIG 11th Year Anniversary
On March 9, 1997, Brooklyn-born hip hop artist, Notorious BIG, was shot and killed in Los Angeles at the age of 24. As a libation to the Notorious BIG and 2Pac, I have poured out this poem in remembrance of their spirits.
Two Thugs Talking
Quiz: How many BIG & Pac songs you can find in the poem?
I gotta story to tell
Shorty (S) wanted to be a thug
He had the heart of men
And his mind was made up
The notorious thug (NT)
Said
NT: “I ain’t mad at you
I love the dough
That’s why I kicked in the door
Come with me
And lets run the streets
Two of America’s most wanted
For just one week”
S: “What’s beef?”
NT: “That’s when we make ni#ga$ bleed
When it comes to trading war stories
They can’t see me”
S: “I wondered why they call you skandalouz?
The world’s filled with playa haters
How you handle it?”
NT: “Well in my eyes, this little candle lit
Hypnotized I realized sky’s the limit
But my ambitions as a rida
And my thug passion
Let me astray from
The 10 commandments
I pictured myself rollin’
With no more pain
But in the end
I lost as much or more than I gained
You’d rather be me
And I’d rather be ya
See all I have is California love
God loves you
and only God can judge me
There’re people who miss you
Whereas nobody loves me”
NT: “Life goes on
but everyday somebody’s got to die
with that nasty boy mentality
Life might f%#k you tonight
If it is your last day
And it’s check out time
Holla at me in heaven
Heaven ain’t hard 2 find”
S: “What’s your phone number?
So I can give you call
I like it when we ride”
NT: “Well ridin’s my downfall
It ain’t all about you
But how do you want it?”
S: “All eyes on me”
NT: “Aight, then take 2 in your stomach
Forget life after death
I’m going back to Cali
Mo money mo problems
Another brother for the tally
NT: You think you’re nobody
until somebody kills you
so you’re tryna do it BIG
so that you can feel cool
but you’re bright like the light
just let it fill you
It’s a long kiss goodnight
Or to life
but you choose
all the fame and fortune
is just an interlude
cause while you’re chasing it
the movie keeps making moves
this is your debut
so all that’s left to do
is be you, be true
and find your inner groove”
See the answer to the quiz question here.
The 5 Forces that Unite People Most
1. Spiritual Exploration
Last Monday, Oprah and Eckhart Tolle united over 700,000 from 139 countries to discuss spirituality and purpose. This was arguably the most diverse spiritual conversation ever to take place with the exception of life itself. Whereas Sunday morning may be one of the most segregated times in the wold as people pursue their difference branches religion, Oprah is going straight to the root through exploring spirituality for the next few Mondays at www.oprah.com.
2. Emotional Movements
I am not a concert goer, but I know that hip hop has transcend culture and speaks to the hearts and souls of many. The way artists weave words together to speak directly to our personal life experiences and emotions is amazing. Books (ie The Alchemist, The Secret) and films (ie The Matrix) have had the same kind of impact by telling a single story that millions identify as their own.
3. Physical Nourishment
We've all got to eat, so food is a great way to unite people. I just went to a Thai restaurant called Song in New York. It was a great vibe. The food was great, the price was right, and the crowd was diverse. They has a DJ that played old school hip hop while you ate. And of course, you know I host monthly potlucks at my home which bring together people from all walks of life to share and learn from one another by seeking to nourish people physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
4. Goals in Groups
Alcoholics Anonymous is perhaps the world's best personal development organization, helping over 2 million alcoholics heal worldwide. Last November, I attending an AA Thanksgiving celebration at one of their meeting places and it was amazing to see people of different classes, cultures, ages, genders, and sexual orientation come together to heal one another. AA and its sister organizations like Gambler's Anonymous show me that personal development is not personal.
5. Life & Death Situations
Though they aren't the healthiest circumstances to unite around, life and death situations bring people together. The impending threat of global warming is requiring that the everyone work together to change our consumption patterns and lifestyles. If we don't, we die. Whether we like it or not, the Universe will always push us toward unity, for unity is programmed into its design.
Do you have any other ideas...
6. Soccer 7. Higher Education 8. The internet 9....?
