I like the way you speak
When you’re giving a speech
A million people watching
You talk directly to me
Sweet words to my pallet
Can’t wait to cast my ballot
Agreeing with every sound bit
I’m finally feeling valid
I hope we’re in the same party
Check your ticket
On the morning of the 5th
Maybe we can kick it
And pop some champagne
To a successful campaign
I don’t drink alcohol
But we can watch it cascade
Democracy or republic?
Platform or foundation?
The last 8 years of dating
Have been kinda crazy
Fighting for no reason
Mental taxation
When you give power to Bush
You’ll end up jaded
We don’t really argue
But we sure do debate
A lower tone of voice
More like we conversate
It’s not about who’s right
It’s what is right for U.S.?
The economy is getting tight
But it’s in God we trust
You can catch me in DC
The District of Compromise
We can Lincoln at the monuments
To watch the sun rise
We could walk through memorials
And celebrate life
And then bathe in reflection
While forgetting who spies
Your presidential suite
Could be my residential street
No air force one here
But there’re two on my feet
If that’s not fly enough
Lets make a sky with the sheets
The pillows can be the clouds
And our minds be the wings
I’m down to take the back seat
To commander and chief
I will be the first man
You be the first lady
When you’re deeply in love
A four year term isn’t enough
But remember our commitment
Is way bigger than U.S.
As you travel the world
Meeting global leaders
I’ll be here in the oval
Watching from the bleachers
I swear to stand by you
With one hand in the air
I don’t care, let it air
The whole country should hear
I’m planning and strategizing
To win your election
But for now I’ll lay low
In your cabinet prepping
For that inaugural moment
When I’ve silenced all opponents
When election day ends
And you close all the voting
I hope I get your vote
And not your veto
How you electrify crowds
I know it’s power to the people
You paint beautiful pictures
Without an easel
Perhaps that white house on the hill
Can be our steeple
Now with the nomination
We should build a nation
Universal health care
And education
Lets get our house in order
Before we mess with they shhhh
Most vote with their feet
You walk with leg-islation
I’m going to put my top pick
In the slit in the box
I promise this is the last time
I make you fit in a box
When we sit and talk
It’s like I’m sitting with God
A Spirit-led leader
Perfect fit for the job
My number one candidate
I wonder if I can date
I missed the primaries
But is it still too late?
My heart bleeds red for you
And my sky is so blue
I can’t wait to see you in white
On the day I say “I do”
I have died
I have risen
I am love
I am thank-full
I am giving
and receiving
Ashe
Amen
And so it is

This poem was inspired by a recent viewing of Ntozake Shange's For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf
My game ain't strong
It's just her father was weak
abandoning my seed
is something I can't conceive
Around this time last year
fatherhood gave me a scare
though my parents divorced when I was one
they were both still there
I've never dated a woman with a father
which says more about him and I than her
do I prey on sore women?
or do I pray on woman that soar?
Stop stigmatizing fatherless daughters
what about the daughterless fathers?
who plant seeds in a garden
that they can't even water
Sorry Father
but this a God damn shame
sorry fathers
think this is a god damn game
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder
so while you're out there in the world
I speak sweet nothings to your daughter
and now she thinks she's my girl
I simply say the things you didn't
and take her places you'd mentioned
no pun intended
but I'm so not kid-ding
When she sees me she sees father
which is definitely an honor
but the problem is
she see calls me daddy
as if she's one of my kids
In an attempt to be transparent
I can't play partner-parent
your daughter should be cherished
instead of treated like an errand
No matter how many holes
As long as you have any souls
go as far as you can go
cause your daughter's worth the toll
To all the female martyrs
who have lived and died without present fathers
patriarchy will pay the priceless price
thy Father's will be done
My life is up in the air
I have no control of where it goes
every time I set a goal
the wind laughs and it blows
I feel like I'm falling down
just me, gravity, and ground
I can float here and complain
or ride joyfully without a sound
In the turbulent twenties
everything feels urgent and empty
but I pray that the winds will
resurge and replenish me
I realize that the winds
have never been my enemy
to let go and let flow
is the only way to blow
Foolish Storm
Oh Storm,
How foolish of you to think that just because I can't see the sun through your thicket of gray clouds that I don't know in my heart that the Sun is still there. Regardless of how loud you thunder or how much you reign/rain, I'm going to light the world with my bright smile until the Sun reclaims its throne atop the world.
You have a deceptive way of turning people against one another. When you blanket the sky, your darkness is like sheep's wool, blinding the people. One look out of the bedroom window in the morning sets many on a self-destructive course to create a bad day for themselves and others because they are more afraid of grey than they are of darkness.
You can't deceive me. I'm going to parade on your rain! I'm going to splash in your puddles. I'm going to enjoy my life despite you. I will not let you steal my thunder or dim my light. I don't blame you for being who you are. Storms are necessary. And I will not use you as an excuse to unleash my pain on anyone else.
I hereby let go of my umbrella and security blankets and allow you to baptize my soul in your love. Purify me. Strip me of that which I don't need anymore so that I may transcend the weight of this wet clothing we call the flesh. For when the clouds finally break the Sun will resurrect and I will be forever free.
You cant fool me anymore. I have learned to see light in darkness.
We all say we want love but nobody has every truly defined it
Can it be defined and/or does it define us?
We have terrible ways of measuring the things we say we value
We measure success and happiness in dollars and eternal time in minutes
Is love a feeling and/or an action?
If it's a feeling then is it not fleeting?
always coming and going like the warmth of the sun
If it's an action, please point to it
Is it holding hands in the park?
or perhaps text messages with smiley faces and hearts?
What's love?
What is love?
Notorious BIG 11th Year Anniversary
On March 9, 1997, Brooklyn-born hip hop artist, Notorious BIG, was shot and killed in Los Angeles at the age of 24. As a libation to the Notorious BIG and 2Pac, I have poured out this poem in remembrance of their spirits.
Two Thugs Talking
Quiz: How many BIG & Pac songs you can find in the poem?
I gotta story to tell
Shorty (S) wanted to be a thug
He had the heart of men
And his mind was made up
The notorious thug (NT)
Said
NT: “I ain’t mad at you
I love the dough
That’s why I kicked in the door
Come with me
And lets run the streets
Two of America’s most wanted
For just one week”
S: “What’s beef?”
NT: “That’s when we make ni#ga$ bleed
When it comes to trading war stories
They can’t see me”
S: “I wondered why they call you skandalouz?
The world’s filled with playa haters
How you handle it?”
NT: “Well in my eyes, this little candle lit
Hypnotized I realized sky’s the limit
But my ambitions as a rida
And my thug passion
Let me astray from
The 10 commandments
I pictured myself rollin’
With no more pain
But in the end
I lost as much or more than I gained
You’d rather be me
And I’d rather be ya
See all I have is California love
God loves you
and only God can judge me
There’re people who miss you
Whereas nobody loves me”
NT: “Life goes on
but everyday somebody’s got to die
with that nasty boy mentality
Life might f%#k you tonight
If it is your last day
And it’s check out time
Holla at me in heaven
Heaven ain’t hard 2 find”
S: “What’s your phone number?
So I can give you call
I like it when we ride”
NT: “Well ridin’s my downfall
It ain’t all about you
But how do you want it?”
S: “All eyes on me”
NT: “Aight, then take 2 in your stomach
Forget life after death
I’m going back to Cali
Mo money mo problems
Another brother for the tally
NT: You think you’re nobody
until somebody kills you
so you’re tryna do it BIG
so that you can feel cool
but you’re bright like the light
just let it fill you
It’s a long kiss goodnight
Or to life
but you choose
all the fame and fortune
is just an interlude
cause while you’re chasing it
the movie keeps making moves
this is your debut
so all that’s left to do
is be you, be true
and find your inner groove”

Cheating on the Job
Stacks of paper to the roof
kinda like the attic be
but deep under these sheets
I'm having fantasies
maybe after work
you'd like to go dance with me
oh...you want me now?
log-on and chat with me
I'm cheating on the job
not with another girl
I'm cheating on my job
with the rest of the world
daydreaming, my thoughts twirl
like I just flushed the toilet
an hour long bathroom break
I just wanna enjoy it
Employment can be annoying
when its not in line with purpose
it ain't worth it all that working
unless it's spiritually rewarding
a hostage to all my bosses
sick of this, I need a lozenge
if money can't buy time
then my time is really costly
stealing staples like its cable
taking anything without labels
that conference room desk
is looking like a dining table
you can't keep me in this stable
with illusions of being stable
might be new kid on the block
but your thought's a day old
this celery of a salary
is green, but doesn't matter see
what matters to me
will energize my inner battery
I can't keep dragging me
from my car across the street
leaving half of my identity
in the passenger seat
this affair isn't fair
to my job or to my dreams
where I spend my time
is where I plant my seeds
in this dog eat dog world
jobs will hound you then pound you
if I want to create value
I've got to do that which I value
HR thinks we're married
but I'm not even engaged
I thought options meant choice
but when it's stock it means you stay
retirement's too far away
my dreams are calling me today
not fired up they'll fire me
I've got new tracks to blaze
so I put in my 14 days
I got a little money saved
I had to jump ship
cause they pushed me to the plank
now I'm swimming with the sharks
not protected by Noah's Ark
as my career comes to an end
my life finally starts
I feel the beating in my heart
marching to my own drum
I feel alive, I feel in love
a superstar like the sun
23 to 45 are key times
ask Michael Jordan
he retired then returned 'cause
the bleachers are boring
Distant Love
You've been tapping into
my roll over minutes
but I really want to rollover in my bed
and have you in it
I'm not dependent
but committed
to this vision
as it is written
we may have 9 lives
like a kitten
but with this one
I'm not kidding
The distance in existence
between our body parts
can never overcome
the pistons in our throbbing hearts
we only see each other Christmas
and weekends to sob for Martin
that makes me twice grateful
for the lives of all our martyrs
It wasn't in my plans
that's why I don't understand
4 years in this amazing maze
led us to the same path
2 writers
freedom fighters
creating love
and living righteous
I might fight for freedom
but I know I can't fight this
You conquer me with love
always honor what's above
my Goliath of an ego
submits to your David touch
you touch my mind
you touch my soul
you've been mining
me like gold
our purpose cannot surface
without digging the unknown
I feel like I'm in a zone
twilight, but not alone
balancing our galaxies
as we talk God on the phone
some people fly planes
and think they're really fly
but we're on another plane
the plane of the most high
How could I be 3 hours ahead
and you still catch me?
How could we be across the country
and still wet sheets?
Regardless of the distance
I firmly take this stance
since the Spirit transcends all
we should surely take a chance

Spiritual Software
I worship my computer
as if it's my god
even though my inner software
is better than Microsoft's
I never turn it off
therefore it's omnipresent
it lights my room in darkness
so it's luminescent
H.P. is my Higher Power
also got an Apple like Eve
I'm caught up in this rat race
and the mouse won't leave
I don't idolize it
but there are a few icons
I've been monitoring through my windows
and keeping my eyes on
I kneel down to my computer
8 hours a day
Muslims pray 5 times
but I will put that to shame
I'm crawling for my domain
on the world wide web
I'm closer to my computer
than this girl I met
I'm a g-mail
if 'g' stands for god
searching for a g-girl
on online dating spots
I pray to it for jobs
even though I'm scared of Monsters
this spiritual plane flies anywhere
from coral reefs to concerts
"Seek ye first the kingdom"
so I typed it into Google
but the search results were empty
I would've at least thought that you knew
instead for my search engine
I search within
no matter how much
it gigahertz to dig
I've made some hard drives forward
but sometimes I just back it up
exploring my mental office
the files aren't stacking up
I give it my ideas
hoping it'll make them live
even if I ram them in
some end up recycled binned
My PC and I've been clicking
but it's not my type
I know my Power Point resides
deep down inside
there is life in my Word
and my Outlook is positive
but in order to Excel
I need change my technology
To my unborn I'm kinda torn
because you weren't expected
its been about three months
that your mom and I've been separate
I feel desperate
but your mother won't talk to me
so I keep texting
hoping you hear the phone beep
It's me
and I want to be part of your life
but I know it wouldn't be right
to make your momma my wife
towards the end of our relationship
you came alive
I guess it's not over
as long as you still survive
In exactly two days
your mommy gets an ultrasound
hoping for a heartbeat
I keep making that gulping sound
this is what happens
when two adults screw around
when you play with nuts and bolts
you're bound to get bolted down
Speaking of screws
I've been building a village for you
the foundation is being laid
I didn't expect you so soon
you get to lead the way
as the village's first youth
all your spiritual siblings
will look up to you
You're not a consequence,
accident, or mistake
your timing was divinely planned
by the one to whom I pray
the morning after pill
used to be my escape
but when God intervenes
probabilities fade
We made sure to use protection
but your strength was so strong
when you've got a purpose to fulfill
you can't wait too long
the world isn't ready
so what...it's got to be
I consider myself creative
but you bring out the God in me
The anointed one
that is why I name you Messiah
and if you are a girl
I'll choose to name you Gaia
I'll be your love supplier
give you energy 'til I'm tired
then you'll reflect my light
and make the whole world brighter
I am honored by the karma
that has made me your father
It's like I've been given a ball of clay
with the power of a potter
I will surely make mistakes
but know I strive to be my best
you may not grow inside my belly
but you're always in my chest
What do you have except what's inside you?
Your material possessions don't define you
To whom much is given much is expected
But if it's taken away can you resurrect it?
Houses, money, and automobiles
Don't outweigh the value that character builds
As I read through history, the story reveals
As co-author all gaps the narrator fills
Family, friends, and faith keep the back straight
The world is on your shoulders, can't let the back brake
A mind made of wisdom can never be imprisoned
A mind with a vision will make the right decisions
Who were you when you were born from the womb?
Rebirth is required for the seed to rebloom
Creation is in me like the tree inside the seed
The visual manifestation was I thought I believed
Cultivate yourself, not material wealth
Cause all that truly matters is your spiritual health
Its rare to find a woman with the strength of men
Most men haven't accomplished what my mom did
Only to lose it all and have to strive to get it again
She defied society regardless of its two cents
A self-developed individual with her own blueprint
She's a deserving black queen and I am her prince
Royalty in her own right
She oiled me to run right
She didn't spoil me with one bite
She soiled me in sun light
From her track locker to a doctor
Then me followed by Crocker
Even if you put a mountain in her way
Nothing was going to stop her
Not divorce, nor depression
Life is just a long lesson
Where you are always tested
But if you stay focused
You can answer any question
Despite every move feeling like regression
And every month feeling like recession
If you count all your blessings
You can appreciate what success is
You're not far from your zenith
You've been there, you've seen it
If I hurt you I didn't mean it
Sky's the limit, so is Venus
The mother of the movement
Sometimes replacing Newton
Two parents in one spirit
I wonder how you do it
I hope you appreciate the speech I make
On June 15th, Father's Day
Because its you I celebrate
Then and today
Happy Mother's Day
They say Black brothers are uneducated
All they know is the talk
At the barber shop
On the corner of 22nd and Main
The twirling red, white, and blue
Symbolizes their American dream going down the drain
Those not at shop put in jell
Either getting pressed or doing their curls
You can't split wigs in jail
They look inside through the bars
Realizing that the next nigga ain't far
From where they are
They've long since waved goodbye
To the other side
Shaving time
As brothers at shop trim their lives
Patiently waiting because they know they are next in line
And they know that their turn in the chair will come
Because they know that the sum of dumb and slums equals guns
But they don't know the number of moons and sons
That will come before they are groomed and done
It may cost anywhere from ten to twenty
For a brother just trying to get by that's plenty
Ready to re-present themselves to a society
That fails to represent their point of view
And recognize that it is the reason
That they do the things they do
This is the one place they feel included and loved
But whether inside or out
They will always be judged
If not there yet, they are at the court getting hung
Because leisure is all they can afford
So finally on their own accord
They pick up a book or magazine to read
Because living on the block has opened their eyes to see
The atrocities committed by this country
Against our community for centuries
They begin analyzing the words of W.E.B. DuBois
And formulating their own articulate voice
It is then they realize they have a choice between
Trying to go from guilty to innocence
Or from filthy to cleanliness
Being caught by barbed wire
Or tripping over barber's wires
Being on parole
Or being on a pay roll
Being blackmailed
Or living the like a black male
The barber shop or jail?
Which is home to a black male?
But love is not a business
It's intimate, non-secretive
Something you feel deep within
Reciprocity's my philosophy
And it's only a loss to me
When I give lots to you
But I'm never profiting
This is a rare transaction
However you feel, unmask it
I'm not after your assets
Put your fears in a casket
The pain my heart incurs
For us to be partners
Makes me a makeshift martyr
For us to start up
A relationship long term
Where we are both concerned
Where we both can learn
And then share meals (mill.) on the firm
Don't contract this contract
We can go way beyond that
Whatever you need, I'm on that
When you call I call back
Its silly to think getting near me
Is a liability as if you fear me
Do you feel me?
Cause it kills me
To deal hands of romance
Without a chance to slow dance
The greater the risk
The greater the return
I just want one kiss
Money back guaranteed I'll return
You supply my demand
I could be your man
Walking hand in hand
Whether we stand
On land or quick sand
I've approached you valiantly
After auditing your balance sheet
I value how you think
You're worth more than stacks of green
Cause you're more than satisfactory
And can help manufacture me
Currently our currency
Is something we oversee (oversea)
But I'll continue to serve you
As long as you serve me
This foreign exchange of emotion
Carried by the currency of the ocean
Contains a bottle of love potion
More potent than any divisive quotient
Granted there are things we can't account for
Like natural competition
The free market of men and women
May cause some suspicion
But, I want stock in your life
Cause I'm tied in your eyes
And you suit me just fine
I invest in you my time
I invest in you my mind
You can count on me
Like a money machine
You know it's a funny thing
Never thought you'd be the one for me
We communicate, negotiate
Associate and cooperate
We merge our minds together
To efficiently operate
You have no substitute
And I'm a complement to you
You are one of kind
That's why I'm in the market for you
My invisible hands shake
When I reach out to touch you
Because you may either resist or take
What I have to offer you
Support, rapport
And lifetime benefits too
My heart is open
I wonder what is stopping you
I trust you enough
To eat from your plate
And drink from your cup
We're past our first date
I think its time you open up
If everything is so personal
How can I get to know you as a person?
If you're void of anything
I can be your nourishment
If I give you butterflies
I apologize for nervousness
If you're unsure of your potential
I'll be your encouragement
No hidden agendas
We share strategic goals
We can silence all contenders
When the next generation starts to roll
Should I put you on speed dial?
Or should I wait a while?
Our bond's young like a child
I want you to smile long as the Nile
Opportunity knocks
So please let me in
This is the last chance I'm giving
The angel round so get in
I'm going to continue to be me
And this is my terms sheet
I need to tell you one thing
I enjoy your company

Instead of focusing so much on complex institutions like Fortune 500 companies, the educational system, and the government, we should direct more of our energy toward developing the institution of the individual. All large institutions are made of individuals, therefore the better the individuals, the better the institution. "Start-up" with yourself.
Live purposefully!
Every morning I turn to Nia
And give thanks for her presence
Without her I feel empty
I feel poor like a peasant
Lost with no direction
A moth with no protection
She helps me grow
Into the butterfly I was destined
To be
To me
She holds the key
That unlocks doors
Inside my core
That I couldn’t even see
In the closets of my mind
She shines the cause of why I’m blind
I broke the law inside my mind
That I’m flawed and I’m divine
Her body is shaped like an indented paragraph
And I stare her up and down
With my internal pair of glasses
I study her like classes
I’m stuck in her like traffic
She’s my new addiction
She takes away all distractions
I love her with a passion
An actor in a movie script
I am the lead actor
we both co-direct
and when she leads
I follow
what she feeds
I swallow
whole
as long as it will get me to my soul’s
goal
with her I watch my destiny unfold
She is so so fine
from years of refinement
But it was I who changed
by changing my own eyelids
she will mother my kids
the fruits of my labor
she’s there in clutch times
(I cannot escape her)
like Duke and Christian Latner
she never tells me later
she is like my savior
marriage is in the mind
it’s meaningless on paper
When she and I make love
I’m caught inside her glove
When the two of us are one
There’s no room to judge
Which makes more room for us
A relationships built on trust
Faith without works is dead
So action is a must
She says if anyone goes astray
It will probably be me
But if I believe in her
She will never leave
In my darkest hour
She is like my moon
She always lights my world
Whether midnight or noon
When there’s excess she prunes
When there’s success she looms
Cause everything I achieve
Is fueled by her fumes
When I look her in the eye
I understand my why
Her belief in me
makes me think I can fly
my guiding light, my life
the focus of my sight
some call her purpose
but Nia is my wife
Note: Nia means purpose in Ki-Swahili
Matthew chapter 2:13 “Get up and take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt…Out of Egypt I called my son.”
Have you heard of Akhen-aten, the husband of Nefertiti?
He was the pharaoh when Moses was priest in 1350 BC
Also known as Amen-hotep
He brought monotheism back to Kemet
Bringing light through the sun god, Amen-Ra
To brighten Egypt, not to dim it
Then Moses got a gimmick
Cut the 42 Declarations down to ten-ish
Tarnished the Egyptian image
And converted all of the Hebrew cynics
It was easy for him to mimic
He was raised among the pyramids
The trinity before their trinity
Except in 3-dimensions
How does if feel to be literally double-crossed?
The cross also came from Egypt go Google the word “ankh”
It is partly our fault for putting questions on hault
But will we still balk with the key to the vault?
Inside the tomb of Tut-ankh-amen
Ancestors embalmed truth for all men
Bob said it in his most famous song
You and I are Jah-Men
We're Jah-men
We're Jah-men
We're Jah-men
We're Jah-men
And we're Jah-men in the name of the Lord
So when I end my prayers in “Amen”
I pay homage to Maat and Ra
For the energy that They have given me
So that I can do that for which I’m called
John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
Like Jesus,
You are the light of the world (Matt 5:14)
And have the power to give life like the sun
Not the S-O-N, but the S-U-N
Our energy source is one
The S-U-N is responsible
for all of the power on the Earth
And man has been in search
of energy since its birth
Whether food, fire, or oil
When the sun kisses the soil
Mother Earth gives us life
As fruit for our enjoyment
But think of photosynthesis on a spiritual plane
We are sowing seed with every thought that’s in our brain
As a man thinketh, so he becomes
Therefore the world that we see is our consciousnesses’ sum
Before the building came the blueprint
Before the feeling came the e-motion
So consider yourself a drop
In this godly body of an ocean
Mark 8:35 “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it.”
Jesus mentions the gospel
Before the gospels came to being
And I want to follow Jesus
Not four interpretations of his sayings
If Christianity came after Jesus
I wonder what he practiced
If nature was his spiritual center
Then his church didn’t have an address
No clergy with nice headdress
No priest with a necklace
Seek and ye shall find
The true meaning of his message
Here, find the word “religion”
It only appears 5 times starting with Acts
And everything about Jesus
Came just before that
The Jesus story that allures us
Is identical to the Egyptian Horus
In their respective times
They were the resurrected suns
Christ, like the Egyptian word Karast, is a spiritual title meaning the anointed one
And Christians weren’t called Jesusians because Christ also dwelt in them
Can someone please show me where Jesus calls himself God’s only son?
Because all I’ve really found is when Jesus answered them
John 10:34 “Is it not written in your law, I have said, “You are gods” referencing Psalms 82:6 You are all sons (and daughters) of the Most High
So God created man in his own image
In the image of God he created him
Male and female he created them (Genesis 1:27)
Jesus said…
Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right? (Luke 12:57)
The kingdom of God is within you (Luke 21:21)
The truth shall set you free (John 8:32)
Believe
Have faith
Don’t doubt, worry, or judge
And most of all, love all
In the name of Jesus, Jesus,
G-is-us
Amen!

My vocation is my vacation
I’m so happy in what I do
The freeway is my runway
And I land in lot two
In the lobby everybody
Greets me just by nodding
If I can’t manage my baggage
Somebody’s right beside me
On this plane it’s insane
You can open window panes
We’ve got to oxygenate the brain
Whether sunshine whether rain
The seats can spin and roll
People switch from row to row
Meeting with new people
Talking about their goals
There’s writing all the walls
Even the bathroom stalls
If you have make up or markers
Security here won’t take them all
My room is nice and plush
With my own personal touch
I’ve got a view of the city
And my own coffee mug
Free wireless access
A gift-wrapped package
People having fun
In the halls I hear laughing
So many people I love here
All in one place
I don’t need a camera
Because I see them every day
From here I can’t escape
My thoughts are on the race
I can’t just carry on
Cause my work is in my veins
Sometimes I leave it on the plane
And wait for another day
But there’s a new carousel of items
Every hour I delay
Everyone’s a pilot
Of new projects and innovations
If our crew agrees
Then they take the navigation
See no one’s in control
We give thanks to Mother Nature
By understanding her laws
All our needs are catered
We rally as a team
In the event of emergencies
There’s no first class on this plane
We value energy equally
Every day is not a sequel
New adventures, stories, and people
Instead of watching seagulls fly
We’ve got to learn to fly like seagulls
When the storm and clouds settle
Hugs replace the hellos
An amusement park of family
Where nobody really gets old
I check in the morning
And I check out late at night
I’ve been on vacation everyday
Without even catching a flight
